Every year has its essence or ‘energy’, its highs, lows and learnings, be it for individuals, families, companies, countries or the world itself. For the world, the one word that sums up the energy of 2017 better than anything else is ‘uncertainty’. There was (and is) a ton of that abounding all year long and, given that humans don’t do too well with uncertainty, it creates a lot of unsettlement, instability and caution. Whether we are evolved enough to get the learnings, however, is doubtful!
For myself, although no expeditions again this year, my ‘year of prioritization’ was profound in other ways, which have no need to share on here or on social media. Will therefore just mention three highlights from my professional hat, which is what this site is about, namely this new website; breaking into the documentary presenting field with the mini-series ‘In Inner Mongolia’ (further blog to follow); and, above all, completing my second book, which will be published in 2018, details in the new year.
