The team departs for summit! Adrian, Al Hancock and Mingma Sherpa, along with most of the other K2 climbing teams,left Base Camp at 6am local this morning on the first phase of their summit bid, a climb of 1,100m to Camp 1 at 6,100m. Lakpa, Nima and Nurbu Sherpa left a few hours earlier to head straight for Camp 2.
