Adrian Hayes’s book detailing his 2011 44 day crossing of the Empty Quarter of the Arabian desert by camel and foot in the trail of legendary British explorer, Sir Wilfred Thesiger. Foreward by Sir Ranulph Fiennes.
K2 – The Tragedy and the Triumph
Adrian shares his deeply moving story of the beauty and brutality of life, and death, on the world’s second highest mountain – and the challenges and lessons for our lives in the world below.
In this visually stunning memoir, Adrian recounts the profound events of his first attempt on the ‘Savage Mountain’ in 2013, when father and son Marty and Denali Schmidt continued climbing whilst he and other climbers came down. And, wrestling with his own guilt, struggles and heartache as a father amidst his tumultuous circumstances at the time, gives an intensely personal account of his decision to attempt the mountain again a year later.
Coming in 2018 - we are awaiting a book sponsor to join the project; if this is applicable and / or of interest to your organisation, please contact us here.
