Earth Hour

29 Mar 2012

As the annual Earth Hour jamboree approaches and Governments and organizations across the World urge us to do what we can to "save the planet", a different view. That is the Planet doesn't need saving at all, it will look after itself very well indeed as nature always does - through drought, famine, disease, the culling of the weak etc etc. The real issue is not uncertain climate change implications in 100 years time, but far more critical present day issues such as feeding, watering and fuelling a World of 7bn people and rising. And whether we're prepared to witness, manage or pay for the possible consequences of nature's responses, ie mass migrations, wars over resources and economic chaos. Which will take more than a token switching off of lights for one hour a year to address.....
